# Install on Umbrel

> Sideload Control Center on Umbrel. The App Store listing is pending.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Control Center is not in the Umbrel App Store yet. Sideload it for now. It needs umbrelOS 2.0 or later.

## Before you start

Install and sync **Bitcoin Node**, **Electrs**, and **Mempool**.

## Install

**1. Get the bundle**

Download the Umbrel sideload bundle from [bitcoincontrolcenter.com](https://www.bitcoincontrolcenter.com). Copy it to your Umbrel.

**2. Run the installer**

SSH in as `umbrel`. Extract the bundle. Run:

```bash theme={null}
./install.sh
```

**3. Open it**

Open **Bitcoin Control Center** from the Umbrel home screen.

**4. Set your PIN**

The first person to open it sets the PIN. Enter 6 digits twice. Save it in your password manager.

Choose a 6-digit PIN.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Umbrel's own login does not protect the app from other apps on your Umbrel. That is why Control Center has its own PIN.

## Update or uninstall

* **Update:** run `./install.sh` from the new bundle.
* **Uninstall:** use Umbrel's app menu.

## Forgot your PIN?

The reset steps in the app.

1. Open the umbrelOS terminal (**Settings** → **Advanced settings**).

2. Run:

   ```bash theme={null}
   sudo docker exec bitcoin-control-center_web_1 node /app/dist/cli.js reset-pin
   ```

3. Restart Bitcoin Control Center. Set a new PIN.

Your accounts and history stay.
