# Bitcoin Control Center help

> Help for Bitcoin Control Center, the local-first, watch-only Bitcoin app.

Bitcoin Control Center tracks your Bitcoin savings on your own device. It is watch-only. It never holds your seed or private keys. There is no Hoseki account.

## How it works

Control Center runs on your computer or home server. It reads your balances from the sources you choose and keeps everything it learns on your device.

 X["Exchanges
read-only API keys"] --> CC
 P["Price source
Bitcoin price"] --> CC
 M["You
manual and ETF holdings"] --> CC
```
* **Wallets** are read from an Electrum server, using public keys only.
* **Exchanges** are read with a read-only API key you create.
* **Manual and ETF holdings** are numbers you type in.
* **Prices** come from a price source you pick in [Settings](https://help.bitcoincontrolcenter.com/settings/app-settings.md).
Nothing is sent to Hoseki. See [Privacy and security](https://help.bitcoincontrolcenter.com/privacy-security.md) for exactly what leaves your device.
