# Understand Home and Portfolio

> What each number means, where it comes from, and why it might look off.

## Where the total comes from

Your total is the sum of every active account:

* **Wallets:** confirmed balance from your Electrum server.
* **Exchanges:** latest balance from the exchange.
* **Manual and ETF:** the amounts you entered.

USD is your BTC total × the current Bitcoin price from your [price source](https://help.bitcoincontrolcenter.com/settings/app-settings.md#bitcoin-price).

> [!NOTE]
>
> Control Center tracks Bitcoin amounts. It does not track cost basis, gains, or losses. All USD figures use **today's** price.

## Home

| Item | What it shows |
| - | - |
| Total | Your BTC total and its USD value now. |
| **Last 30 Days** chart | Your BTC total over the last 30 days. |
| **30d Change** | BTC total now minus 30 days ago. USD is that change at today's price. |
| **Accounts** | How many accounts you track. |
| **Bitcoin Price** | USD price, with **7D**, **30D**, **6M**, or **1Y** history. Refreshes every 5 minutes. |
| **Recent Statements** | Your last three statements. |

## Portfolio

![Portfolio page with an account filter, total balance, Synced status, balance chart, and Net accumulated card](https://mintcdn.com/hoseki-corp/UfUbkRUza9CJFqpH/images/tour-portfolio.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=UfUbkRUza9CJFqpH\&q=85\&s=26910269cc467223a1ef1b6f68dc9706)

Portfolio with the account filter on the left.

### Filter by account

Select accounts on the left to see just those. **All accounts** shows everything. On a narrow window, use the **Filter accounts** button instead.

* **Generate Statement** starts a statement with the wallets you filtered to.
* Exchanges marked **Reconnect needed** can't be selected. Select them to reconnect.

### Sync status

Next to the account name, a dot shows how fresh the numbers are.

| Status | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **Synced** (green) | Up to date. |
| **Updating balances** or **Updating history** | Working. The page refreshes itself. |
| **Last synced …** (amber) | Your Electrum server can't be reached. Showing the last saved balances. |
| **History unavailable** (red) | History couldn't load. It retries automatically. |

Seeing **Last synced** for a while? Check your [Electrum connection](https://help.bitcoincontrolcenter.com/help/troubleshooting.md#connection).

### Date ranges

Choose **7D**, **30D**, **90D** (default), **1Y**, **All**, or **Custom**.

![Choose a date range popover with start date and end date](https://mintcdn.com/hoseki-corp/UfUbkRUza9CJFqpH/images/portfolio-custom-range.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=UfUbkRUza9CJFqpH\&q=85\&s=8b5b43c357a742df596722716f548dd9)

Pick any start and end date with Custom.

Older wallet history is rebuilt from the blockchain the first time you view it. Long ranges can take a moment.

### Net accumulated

**Net accumulated** is how much your BTC total changed in the range. **Avg / month** spreads it across the months in the range.

When there were outflows, you also see **in** and **out** totals.

> [!NOTE]
>
> "In" and "out" are worked out from changes between balance snapshots. They are close to your real transactions but are not a transaction list. Moving Bitcoin between two of your own tracked wallets can show as both in and out.

The **monthly** bars show the net change for each month.

## Why a number might look off

> **My total shows "—"**
>
> Control Center couldn't confirm one of your balances. It shows "—" instead of a wrong total. Wait a moment, or select **Try Again**. Check your Electrum connection.

> **I just received Bitcoin but it's not showing**
>
> Only confirmed transactions count. Wait for one confirmation.

> **My total dropped suddenly**
>
> Check for an exchange showing **Reconnect**, or a wallet you archived. Neither counts in the total.

> **The USD change doesn't match my gains**
>
> USD figures use today's price for every past change. They are not profit or loss.

> **My history has gaps**
>
> Control Center records snapshots only while it runs. Exchange and manual history between runs can be missing. Wallet history is rebuilt from the blockchain.
