A statement is a PDF of your self-custody Bitcoin for a date range. Think of it as a bank statement for your own wallets. It shows opening balance, money in, money out, and closing balance for each wallet.

Before you start

  • Only verified wallets can go on a statement. Verify ownership first.
  • Exchanges, manual, and ETF holdings are never included. Ask your exchange for its own statement.
  • On StartOS and Umbrel, Mempool must be running.

Date rules

Full Period or Monthly

Download saves the format you’re viewing.
  • Full Period: one summary for the whole range, then each wallet’s transactions.
  • Monthly: one summary per month, then that month’s transactions.

What’s on the PDF

  • A summary table: opening balance, money out, money in, and closing balance per wallet.
  • A page of transactions for each wallet. Unconfirmed transactions show “PENDING”.
  • Your total in BTC. Non-USD statements also show an approximate value in that currency.
  • Your name and address, if you added them.
Currency values use saved daily prices from Mempool. They are approximate.

Hoseki Verified

Every statement carries the Hoseki Verified badge.

The Hoseki Verified badge.

It means each wallet on the statement passed proof of control in Control Center: you signed a message with that wallet’s key.
  • Balances and transactions come straight from the Bitcoin blockchain.
  • Signing does not move funds.
  • Control was proven when you verified the wallet, not on the statement date.

Manage statements

Open Statements. Switch between card and list view.
  • View opens a statement. Download saves it.
  • The trash icon deletes it, after you confirm. This can’t be undone. Statement numbers are not reused.

Where lookups go (desktop)

To build a statement, Control Center looks up every transaction in your wallets. By default this uses mempool.space. It is fast, but mempool.space sees your IP address and transactions. To keep lookups on your own server, open Settings → Statement data → Configured Electrum server. It is slower, especially over Tor. See Settings.
